Funny, I recently resumed Season 2 after a long break. Almost every episode not directed by Lynch himself is quite bland.
Last episode seen introduced David Duchovny as an FBI man who's chosen to become a woman. Some have marked this as the beginning of the show's death rattle, but while it's true that the best of the show is almost totally used up at this point, Duchovny is actually really good, and grounds a show that's losing it.
