IG Farben Aerial Photograph

I've been itching to see Images of the World and the Inscription of War again ...

Is it just a reference to Farocki here? Because I.G. Farben is also a reference of a Cannes film, Nicolas Klotz' La Question Humaine, who names the company where Amalrick works "SC Farb". I was wondering if you thought of this too. Great film by the way, and it might be compared to Farocki's didactical demonstrations. I'd like to have your opinion on this as I've only seen 3 Farockis.

Yeah I've been dying to see Farocki's movie again, quite possibly the film that left the biggest impression on me screened in a class at NYU.

Harry, just a Farocki reference--I haven't seen the Klotz film (though I'm pretty sure you've recommended his work before on the blogosphere). I haven't seen too many more Farockis than you, actually; but I think he's an excellent filmmaker. Wish there was more of his stuff floating around on dvds and repertory schedules.

Daniel, what class did you see the film in? Was it Media & Cultural Studies? I think that's where I saw it. (Film Theory with Chris Straayer had As You See It--also awesome.)

Zach,

It was Straayer's Film Theory course.
